Axens was formed on July 1, 2001 through the merger of IFP's technology licensing division with Procatalyse Catalysts & Adsorbents. Axens is a refining, petrochemical and natural gas market focused company offering market-leading products including processes, catalysts, adsorbents and equipment, backed by nearly fifty years of R&D and industrial success.

Axens is a world leader in several areas, such as:
petroleum hydrotreating & hydroconversion,
FCC gasoline desulfurization,
catalytic reforming,
BTX (benzene, toluene, xylenes) production & purification,
selective hydrogenation,
Claus and Tail Gas Treatment (TGT).

Axens NA was founded on Jan. 1, 2002 through the merger of IFPNA and Procatalyse US.
