Interview
with Stéphanie Parisse - Faux
Human Resources Director
Axens' recruitment policy
What are the skills required to work
within Axens ?
Stéphanie
Parisse - Faux: Technical competence, rigour, autonomy,
reactivity and team spirit are strongly appreciated for a candidate.
These skills make it easier to integrate within teams in place
and to share in the company culture, which is far from being an
empty word for Axens.
Open-mindedness and a real capacity to adapt and to listen are
necessary as well. With the latter, each individual gives his
best in any circumstances, which is all the more important as
our clients' demands are very diversified. Of course, it's essential
to speak English fluently.
In practice, what is to be done to apply
for a job ?
S.P.F. The
traditional way is still utilized. For this, you just have to
send a curriculum vitae and a covering letter. But we wish to
develop the Internet interface. Of course, the way chosen by the
candidate has no impact on the care his application is dealt with.
Once this first step is cleared, what
is the procedure ?
S.P.F.: As
soon as an application is received, the dossier is dealt with
by the Recruitment Department that first determines whether it
is appropriate with posts to be filled immediately or in the near
future.
If the application is not retained, the candidate is informed as
soon as possible.
If the application is retained, the candidate will be asked to
take part in two or three interviews with his future hierarchy and
a member of the Human Resources Department. These interviews may
be supplemented by personality tests in a recruitment agency.
The whole procedure is achieved within a short period, in order
to inform the candidate as soon as possible and make, if he is retained,
a firm offer.
What may be added to demonstrate conclusively
the merits of joining Axens ?
S.P.F.: In
our domain of activity, Axens is a worldwide benchmark. It's not
a mere coincidence that the major refining, petrochemical and
gas companies trust us. The reason is that our technologies, the
performance of our products, the skills of our workforce are among
the best in the world.
Axens is a newly established company but we rely on expertise that
has been developed over many years in IFP and Procatalyse, and which
will be enhanced in the coming years.
Joining Axens also means becoming part of a company that belongs
to a group comprising over 3000 people. The number of career paths
- and opportunities - is virtually unlimited.
