Axens' etherification technologies cover a complete range of attractive solutions, including production of MTBE (from isobutene and methanol), ETBE (from isobutene and ethanol) and/or TAME (from isoamylenes and methanol). These processes are based on a specific concept of expanded catalytic-bed reactors and also on a state-of-the-art reactive distillation system called Catacol^TM. In addition to overcoming equilibrium limitations, Catacol minimizes catalyst cost because, unlike other catalytic systems, Catacol does not require proprietary internals or internal packaging.
