CMG 171 is a guard bed material specially used for mercury removal from olefinic gas and liquid hydrocarbon streams.

The active trapping phase based on a metal sulfide supported on alumina eliminates any risk of elution either by gas streams or by liquid surges. Moreover the active phase is completely inert regarding the presence of ethylenic or acetylenic compounds.

The selected pores distribution avoids capillary condensation of water and/or heavy hydrocarbons even with high relative saturation.
