Application
: Arsenic Removal from sweet liquids & gases Type : PbO, Al2O3 Shape : Spheres
MEP-191 is a catalytic adsorbent mass developed for the protection of catalysts against poisoning by arsenic. Sulfur in the form of COS does not alter the arsenic removal efficiency of MEP-191.
Arsenic, which is often present as arsine (AsH3) in light olefinic cuts from the FCC and selective steam cracker feeds, is a very strong poison for selective hydrogenation catalysts used for olefin purification. Therefore, elimination of any arsenic upstream of the catalytic bed to less than a few ppb is absolutely necessary for efficient catalyst performance.
MEP-191 is exceptionally effective in this service, featuring:
· Full efficiency in the presence of carbonyl sulfide
· No potential explosive reactions in the presence of acetylenes
· High arsenic adsorption capacity
· High macroporosity for minimal risk of pore condensation
MEP-191 can be installed as a guard layer in the same reactor as the hydrogenation catalyst since it is not affected by regenerations.
MEP-191 is also efficient for the removal of traces of H2S and COS from liquids and gases at ambient or higher temperatures.
