July 25, 2007 - "Clean Fuels Technologies for CPCL in India"
The Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (CPCL) of India has selected Axens to supply technologies for its Clean Fuels Projects in the 9.5 million ton per annum (Mtpa) Manali Refinery in Chennai. A new 1.8 Mtpa Prime-D™ unit will be installed to upgrade gasoil feed to produce superior diesel fuel. The gasoil stream will undergo both ultra high desulfurization and cetane improvement to produce a high quality diesel containing less than 10 ppm of sulfur with a cetane index of 53. In addition, a 154,000 tpa C5/C6 deisohexanizer (DIH) configuration isomerization unit will be added to provide a high octane component for the gasoline pool.
Axens is a leading provider of clean fuels technologies. Prime-D is a benchmark ultra low middle distillate desulfurization technology. The DIH isomerization technology is one of several configurations provided to meet high octane gasoline demand. Other clean fuels technologies are: Prime-G+™ (the leading gasoline desulfurization technology with over 140 licenses), Hy-C10™ (mild-hydrocracking with simultaneous diesel quality improvement), and Octanizing™ (CCR reforming to produce hydrogen and high octane gasoline from naphtha).
___________________ Prime-D, Prime-G, HyC-10 and Octanizing are proprietary commercial names of Axens.
