October 28, 2001 - "Conoco’s Oklahoma Refinery to implement Prime-G+ Technology"
Axens’ Prime-G+ technology continues to show unprecedented success among US and European refiners. Conoco has announced that its Ponca City, Oklahoma refinery will implement Axens’ Prime-G+ technology for meeting Conoco’s US Tier II gasoline sulfur requirements. The 48,500 barrel per day Ponca City FCC gasoline desulfurization unit will treat full range naphtha and is scheduled to be put into operation in 2003.
Axens’ first Prime-G+ unit was put into operation in mid-August of this year and confirmed the excellent operation of the process for attaining Germany’s voluntary 10 ppm sulfur specification. More than 30 Axens’ Prime-G+ units will be put on stream over the next 26 months. The Conoco unit it Axens 37th FCC gasoline desulfurization unit and the 31st employing the Prime-G+ technology.
