Saudi Aramco has awarded Axens two Prime-D Toolbox distillate hydrotreating technology licenses. The Axens’ Prime-D Toolbox, which includes EquiFlow reactor internals and HR-400 series catalyst, will be implemented in the 95,000 barrel per day Yanbu - one of the world’s largest - and 45,000 barrel per day Riyadh hydrotreaters, which are scheduled to be fully operational in 2006. When these units come on stream, they will substantially lower the sulfur content in the diesel pool produced and sold in Saudi Arabia.
