November 12, 2002 - "Petrogal’s Prime-G+ FCC Gasoline Desulfurization Unit On-stream"
Axens has streamed a Prime-G+ unit at Petrogal’s refinery in Sines, Portugal. The 26,600 barrels per day unit was designed to desulfurize cracked gasoline to a level affording a gasoline pool sulfur specification of less than 50 ppm (Euro 2005 specification). The test run was accomplished with a cracked naphtha containing 2,100 ppm sulfur and produced a less than 50 ppm sulfur treated product, with good octane retention and excellent gasoline yield.
Sines and Porto refineries have both implemented Axens’ technologies to produce ultra-low sulfur fuels. In addition to the start-up of the Prime-G+ plant at Sines, Petrogal has recently streamed two Prime-D Toolbox technologies for ultra-low sulfur diesel production at the Porto and Sines refineries.
