IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) will implement Axens technologies to upgrade the gasoline pool at the Haldia Refinery in West Bengal to Euro III specifications. The “Motor Spirit Upgrading Project” consists of: a new 122,000 metric ton per year (tpy) deisohexanizer recycle isomerization unit to boost the Research Octane Number of the light naphtha, a revamp of the existing semi-regenerative reformer unit to increase capacity, and a new 160,000 tpy Prime-G+ FCC gasoline desulfurization unit to reduce sulfur while controlling the pool olefin content.
