February 26, 2004 - "Axens’ Prime-G+ Technology: Over 2 Million BPSD of Clean Gasoline"
Axens’ Prime-G+ technology established a landmark in 2003. Over a twelve month period, Prime-G+ was awarded 26 new licenses to desulfurize FCC gasoline and has now surpassed a cumulated licensed capacity of 2.2 million barrels per day. In 2003 alone, nineteen units were commissioned, the majority of which are located in the North American market.
A total of 87 licenses have been awarded and designed in multiple configurations and with a variety of feedstocks. Some of the reasons for this tremendous success include: the ease of re-use of idle equipment, the possibility of staged investment along with the availability of site specific training programs and advanced process control.
Axens’ Prime-G+ was the only refinery technology among the five finalists of the prestigious Kirkpatrick Honor Award for Chemical Engineering Achievement. The Prime-G+ process received honors for its development and rapid commercialization in meeting new ultra-low-sulfur gasoline specifications.
