Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corporation (FCFC) has awarded Axens licenses for aromatics production technologies for the 3rd Aromatics Complex in Mai-Liao, Taiwan. The 40,000 bpsd high-severity AromizingTM CCR reformer will process naphtha feedstock while the 784,000 tons per year TransPlusSM unit will produce xylenes from toluene and C9+ aromatics. This project is part of the Axens & Exxon Mobil alliance on aromatics technologies. The start-up of the new units is scheduled for 2006.
