December 21, 2004 - "HPCL Mumbai India to use Axens’ Gasoline Technologies"
Axens’ gasoline technologies will be incorporated at the HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd) Mumbai Refinery on the Indian West Coast as part of its gasoline pool upgrading program. The “Green Gasoline” project includes a 6,500 bpsd (250,000 tons per year) C5/C6 isomerization unit (with deisohexanizer recycle) to boost light naphtha octane number and a 12,500 bpsd Prime-G+ unit to desulfurize FCC gasoline. Start-up is scheduled for 2005.
Axens is a technology benchmark in gasoline pool upgrading projects which include catalytic reforming, paraffin isomerization and FCC gasoline desulfurization technologies.

HPCL is India's second largest integrated oil refining and marketing company. HPCL has two refineries: the Mumbai Refinery on the West Coast has a capacity of 5.5 million tpy, and the East Coast Visakhapatnam Refinery has a capacity of 7.5 million tpy.
