December 22, 2004 - "HPCL Visakh India selects Axens' Gasoline Technologies"
HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd) of India is implementing Axens technologies to upgrade the gasoline pool at the Visakh Refinery in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The “Green Gasoline” project will incorporate a 6,400 bpsd (230,000 tons per year) deisohexanizer (DIH) recycle isomerization unit to boost the light naphtha research octane number and a 12,000 bpsd Prime-G+ unit to desulfurize FCC gasoline. The start-up is scheduled for 2006.
Over the past three years Axens has established itself as a market leader in gasoline pool upgrading projects including catalytic reforming, paraffin isomerization and FCC gasoline desulfurization technologies.

HPCL is India's second largest integrated oil refining and marketing company. HPCL has two refineries: the Mumbai Refinery on the West Coast has a capacity of 5.5 million tpy, and the East Coast Visakhapatnam Refinery has a capacity of 7.5 million tpy.
