March 3, 2005 - "MiRO to Implement Axens’ Advanced Process Control"

MiRO (Mineraloelraffinerie Oberrhein Gmbh & Co.) has named Axens to manage and carry out a project incorporating an advanced process control (APC) system on the Prime-G+ gasoline desulfurization unit. The APC system is projected to achieve significant economic benefit by providing precise control of product sulfur content while minimizing octane loss and reducing hydrogen consumption and utilities demand.

The APC project combines the know-how and experience from catalyst and process operation and the use of Axens’ computational resources including inferential modules, proprietary software packages, multivariable predictive controllers and an extensive database of chemical reaction kinetics and thermodynamics. The economic success demonstrated by APC in recent applications provides clear economic incentives for rapid implementation.
