Natural Gas Processing

Axens possesses all the purification and drying technologies necessary for the production of purified natural gas that meets the specifications for natural gas end users and as the feedstock for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) processes.

Axens provides natural gas treatments that cater for this rapidly expanding market:

• Trapping materials for mercury removal (AxTrap^TM Mercury Series)
• Sulfur recovery catalysts for the Claus process
• A wide range of AxSorb^TM alumina adsorbents and molecular sieves with optimized formulations for drying and purification.

For the LNG market, Axens commercializes a high-performance natural gas liquefaction process. The Liquefin^TM process achieves, for identical installed horsepower, 15–20% higher capacities for 25% lower production costs-per-ton of LNG when compared with conventional schemes.

Axens Gasel Technology Suite enables the production of ultra-clean liquid fuels (GTL), notably jet fuel and diesel, through the conversion of synthesis gas (H₂+CO) from natural gas.

Natural gas processing plants also produce Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) that require treatment before sale.
