Selective Hydrogenation Mixed butenes Process
The selective hydrogenation of butadiene, which traces have to be eliminated for further downstream processing, can eventually lead to preferentially one or the other of the n-butenes isomers that are 1-butene and 2-butene.
When the downstream units requires deep butadiene removal, down to the ppm level, without preferential requirement for either of the n-butenes, Axens selective hydrogenation “mixed butenes” process will lead to maximum n-butenes yields in the most economical way.
This technology also allows achieving complete isobutene preservation.
