The Deputy Sales Manager will participate in the sales and promotion activity of Process Licensing (licensing, engineering, equipment sales and related services) and Performance Program (services, consulting) Business Units in India and Sri Lanka. He/She will coordinate the submission of the bids to the potential and existing customers including negotiation of terms and conditions, address customer queries and drive customer satisfaction under the supervision of the Process Licensing Country Sales Manager.


  • Drive sales of process licenses and consulting services with existing and potential customers in the refining and petrochemical industry for grass-root projects, revamps etc
  • Maintain thorough  knowledge of Axens’ portfolio/offer in process licensing  and  other  service offerings in India and offer solutions to the customer as per the specific requirements
  • Prepare and deliver preliminary technical presentations to clients
  • Coordinate with Axens’ France services to receive the  Technical and  Legal  inputs required t o participate to the Tenders.
  • Participate  in  the  bid  preparation  process  in  response  to  tender  enquiries  from  customers,  and subsequent activities.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings with customer to understand the customer requirements; coordinate with Axens
  • France for preparation of technical proposal
  • Prepare commercial proposal and arrange submission of consolidated bid to customer with due inputs and approvals from commercial and legal team at Axens HQ.
  • Finalize agreements with customers for awarded jobs in coordination with legal department at Axens HQ.
  • Organize and /or participate in industry conferences and seminars with the support of technology and marketing team at Axens HQ.
  • Ensure business follow up in the assigned sales territory; contribute to Sales Forecast, ERP and market database updates
  • Assist manager in the preparation of Business Plan and Budget for the business unit
  • Monitor the business results and achievements of target on a regular basis for reporting to the Head of the
  • Department (by using necessary software tools)
  • Provide information to the Head of the department and Axens HQ on any quality issue at the customer end and any improvement opportunity


Education :

Education: Chemical engineer with at least a minimum B. Tech Degree in Chemical Engineering / Petroleum
Engineering / Certificate in Business Management will be an added advantage.

Experience :
  • Min 5 Years of experience in Petroleum Refinery Plant Projects / Technical Services / Operations. Technical Knowledge Professional experience in Refining and/ or Petrochemical Plants as well as in the Selection and Licensing of Technologies for Petroleum and Petrochemical Industries. Adequate knowledge of process design package; Theoretical and practical knowledge of different Refinery and Petrochemical technologies (knowledge of Axens Technologies would be a plus) 
  • Thorough knowledge of complex refinery operations; Ability of comparison of technologies including catalysts
  • Combination of technical and commercial skills for marketing of Refining Technologies
  • Familiarity with the Indian Refining Industry and its major players; Knowledge of French would be an advantage
