12th FCC Forum: Technology, Innovation, and Excellence 02.08.2017
With over 170 of the industry’s key technical people, the 12th FCC Forum, dedicated to Fluid Catalytic Crackig, was held in Ho Chi Minh City in April 23-26, 2017.
The Forum is organized every two years by Axens and TechnipFMC, members of the FCC Alliance along with Total and IFP Energies nouvelles. Over the years, it has become a key event of the Fluid Catalytic Cracking technology with a constant success.
During two and a half days, the team showcased advances in technology resulting from more than three decades of collaboration in the field of FCC. The agenda was also packed with licensee presentations and keynotes on global oil and gas market outlook, FCC performance benchmarking and the first commercial application of high severity FCC Technology (HS-FCCTM).
“The technical updates and opportunities to network with industry colleagues made the Forum well worth the trip.” (BP)
During the workshops, the participants came together to exchange ideas and experiences about changes and effects of mushroom distributor installation, turnarounds, unit commissioning, operation feedbacks and manufacturing highlights for down flow reactors among other topics.
“The forum was very helpful for the networking opportunity. It allowed to meet some people whom I corresponded a lot but could never see face to face. Overall the technical content was excellent covering various areas of FCC including, catalyst, troubleshooting, new developments and technology.” (BAPCO)
The discussion between guests, those exploring operation best practices and those mapping future projects that will shape the market, continued at the social events starting with the welcome cocktail on Sunday night at the top of the Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers.
After the first full-day of technical presentations and networking sessions, attendees were invited to explore the history behind the Independence Palace in the heart of Ho Chi Minh through a guided tour, and relax during the Gala Dinner.
“It’s nicely organized well thought-of event with each details taken care. Informal get-together in evenings was focal point ensuring good networking opportunities.” (BPCL)
The second night the visit of the beautiful Binh Quoi Village was on the menu, to enjoy live demonstration of handcrafted local products such as calligraphy, origami of palm leaves and shadow cut.
“It was very well planned and executed event. The evening events were very enjoyable and allowed for good networking. The sessions were diverse and prompted good discussion. I am very glad that I attended.” (BP)
