Exactly one month ago, on Sunday September 27, 2015, Axens employees did #SucceedTogether in completing a beautiful sporting and charity challenge.

40 Axens employees, including 20 who work at the Salindres plant and came especially from the south of France, met at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower. They didn’t do any tourism, but were at the starting line of the « Grande Classique », the Paris –Versailles sporting event that they run wearing the colors of the Etoile de Martin association that fights pediatric cancers.

Eugénie, Kenza and Valentin, three children affected by this unfair disease were seated in a one wheel vehicle called a “joëlette”. Axens employees took turns to push and pull the three joëlettes and allow the children to live a unique experience on a tough track highlighted by the mythical climb of Meudon’s Côte des Gardes, and its 130 meters incline over 2 kilometers.

This remarkable sporting feat mobilized more than Axens runners: the Etoile de Martin association’s fund-raising was a success as well. The money raised, added to the company’s Financial participation reached 13,500 Euros.

Axens’ CEO, Jean Sentenac handed the check to the association before running alongside his employees the 16km that separate Paris from Versailles. The best symbol of the company’s cohesion through this charity and sporting event.
