Axens Marketing & Refining Technology Seminar in Lisbon 16.11.2016

The 2016 edition of the Axens seminar preceding the ERTC was held on November 14 in Cascais (Portugal), a charming seaside town some thirty kilometers from Lisbon.

The event was a forerun by an evening at the Estufa Fria, a gigantic greenhouse surrounded by lush vegetation in the heart of Lisbon.
The bucolic setting and the colorful animation of the waders were appreciated by the guests.

The seminar was attended by 130 people representing the main players in the European refining market.
The topics covered concerned energy efficiency and the environment, as well as improving the profitability of existing assets.

The presentations of Mr. Ahmed Belghazi from Total on the digitalization of the future’s refinery and of Ms. Christine Travers from IFP Training were particularly rich contributions to the technical agenda of the day.

Among the novelties of the 2016 seminar, a panel was open to questions and discussions related to the topic: “How do we achieve greater flexibility and adapt to current market trends?”

Attendees could ask their questions through a mobile application as well as consult the agenda and even take surveys.
The event was covered on social networks thanks to the live tweets (chek them out below the article) and the Twitter Game.

Once again this year, the seminar proved to be a not-to-be-missed European event in the sector, as can be seen in the comments from our clients and partners participating in the event.

This seminar provides me with an overview of Axens technologies and activities in the refining industry.

The organization of the event was excellent. The warmth of the reception made me feel like an important guest.

(Albert van den B., seminar attendee)

See you next year in Athens for the next edition of the Axens seminar which, as every year, will precede the ERTC.
