Water Treatment

Population growth, industrial demand for water, pollution as well as climate change are putting increasing stress on fresh water resources. According to the World Health Organization, a substantial portion of the global population lacks access to a reliably managed source of safe drinking water.

Addressing the challenges related to water treatment, reuse, recycling and valorization of pollutants have become major stakes for all types of water including potable, stormwater, agricultural and industrial purposes. New challenges are also emerging, linked to emerging pollutants, and there is a global adoption of targets related to zero liquid discharge.

Integrated Solutions for

Reusing, Recycling Wastewater

Macro and micropollutants encompass a large array of contaminants with different impacts on the environment (sediments accumulation, algae proliferation, increase turbidity, toxicity, higher oxygen consumption, etc). These pollutants and contaminants need to be treated accordingly to reach environmental discharge limits or reuse/recycling specifications in municipal and industrial applications for instance.

Axens’ objective is to preserve the environment by reducing its own water footprint and also by proposing integrated solutions to our clients for recycling or reusing wastewater while valorizing pollutants whenever it is possible.

We supplies high-performance water treatment adsorbents for potable water, environmental remediation, storm water, industrial and agricultural effluents and technologies for biological treatment of industrial wastewater.

Actiguard™ Series

ActiGuard® AA400G

AA400G has been developed in order to remove several contaminants in one-step, in particular arsenic and fluoride with high fluoride adsorption capacity ranging from 1 to 20mg/g depending on water chemistry.

Simple regeneration of AA400G is also possible making it the industrial standard for fluoride removal.

Characteristics Activated Alumina
Shape Granule

ActiGuard® AAFS50

Axens developed ActiGuard® AAFS50 to enhance arsenic adsorption capacity versus unprompted activated alumina. The three times greater adsorption capacity extends service life and allows cost effective single use.

ActiGuard® AAFS50 is the practical solution for phosphates removal. It is also used for multiple contaminant removal like fluoride, silica, zinc, copper, lead, and selenium in specific applications.

Characteristics Promoted Alumina
Shape Granule
Request

ActiGuard® R

Arsenic & metals removal from non-potable water.

It is intended for remediation applications including groundwater site clean ups, industrial effluent, and storm water runoff where metals and nutrients are issues.

Characteristics Promoted Alumina
Shape Granule

ActiGuard® F

Neutralized activated alumina, typically applied for non-regenerating fluoride removal, or applications requiring neutral effluent pH.

Characteristics Promoted Alumina
Shape Granule
