Plastic Recycling

With 360 MMt of plastic produced per year, plastic is one of the world’s most used materials. From this global production, only 8% of plastic comes from recycling.

To promote the recycling of industrial plastics, governments take regulatory measures such as:

  • European directive establishes the target of recycling 55% of any plastic waste in 2030.
  • California Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed a first-in-the-nation law requiring plastic beverage containers to contain an increasing amount of recycled material. Under it, companies that produce everything from sports drinks to soda to bottled water must use 50% recycled plastic by 2030.

A global commitment

Many major brands owners are committed to use 25% or more recycled plastics

Plastic waste becomes a resource

Understandably, the packaging market using recycled plastic is increasingly rising. In answer, Axens provides technologies for the production of sustainable plastics. By offering multiple solutions such as advanced plastic recycling technologies, Axens is committed to participate in the reducing of the amount of non-circular plastics and in recapturing as much value from plastic waste as possible.
