Our History & Activities
Axens’ technologies have found a steadily growing customer base in India since 1970s. Around 2006-2008, in anticipation of the implementation of Bharat Stage III fuel quality norms, sweeping investments in cleaner fuel units such as Prime-G+™ and C5/C6 Isomerization, as well as diesel hydrotreaters across refineries in the country led to a quantum jump in the volume of business in the area.
At that juncture, the need to have an establishment closer to the customers for enhanced reactivity in services and sales activities was perceived, and that led to the birth of Axens India Private Limited (AIPL) at the end of 2008.
We help industry players select the right process configuration and solutions for the conversion of oil and biomass to cleaner fuels and petrochemical intermediates, and also for gas purification, CCS, and recycling of plastics.
Customers in India, some of who have been with Axens for more than five decades, rely on assistance from Axens India team of seasoned technical experts to get the best out of Axens' technologies and products.
Your local challenges, our global solutions
We empower your transformation to meet today’s and tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities.
-
Cleaner mobility on Indian roads
Eleven refineries in the country are relying on Axens' market-leading Prime G+TM technology and catalysts to deliver BS VI compliant MS (Motor Spirit/ Petrol) for cleaner mobility on Indian roads.
-
CO2 reduction targets
As per the draft National Automotive Policy, India is on the way to put in place CAFE norms, with a target to match CO2 reduction targets set by developed countries within 2025. This will call for MS quality standards to move beyond BS VI. With a complete offer of MS quality upgrading technologies, including Alkylation, Etherification, and Oligomerization of olefins, Axens is ideally poised to continue assisting Indian refiners to keep pace with this upcoming market demand.

India's National Policy on Biofuels 2018
India's National Policy on Biofuels - 2018 proposes a target of 20% blending of ethanol in petrol and 5% blending of biodiesel in a diesel by 2030. For operators looking to venture in this area, Axens is a one-stop shop for biofuel production technologies - be it 2G ethanol (FuturolTM), renewable diesel in the form of hydrotreated vegetable oils, animal fats or used cooking oils (Vegan®) or integrated biomass to liquid complex using gasification and FT synthesis.
Working with Axens in this nascent domain, apart from processes with cutting-edge innovation, operators get the benefit of more than 50 years of experience in the industrialization of process technologies.
