Den Bosch / Rueil-Malmaison
The Den Bosch-based industrial wastewater management company is renewing its management team, three years after its acquisition by France's Axens. HydroThane is embarking on a new phase of development, strengthening relations with its original partners and customers and driving market and geographic expansion.
HydroThane, an international leader in anaerobic digestion of industrial wastewater, announces the appointment of Morgane Pigeaux as its new Managing Director. Anaerobic digestion of industrial wastewater is one of the most sustainable wastewater treatment technologies as it allows wastewater organic pollution to be converted into biogas. Morgane Pigeaux is deputed from Axens, the French industrial company that acquired HydroThane in 2022. She holds a PhD in chemistry and a master's degree from one of France's leading international business schools (HEC). She has been with HydroThane for three years, having held previously several positions at Axens and IFPEN, with a strong focus on technology business development. She is also proficient in anaerobic industrial water treatment, HydroThane's key area of expertise.
Alongside her, Arno van de Kant joined HydroThane as Director of Operations in early November. He has extensive operational leadership experience in Dutch and international industry and will focus on optimizing project execution, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence across HydroThane’s global portfolio.
With almost 230 projects carried out in the fields of wastewater treatment and biogas since its creation in 2008, HydroThane will continue to support its customers with high level technical support or biomass management capabilities and aims to accelerate its growth by drawing on a reinforced team and the support of Axens engineering and world coverage capacities. Historically focused on the industrial brewing, distillery, agri-food (particularly dairy products), and paper industries, the company is now also positioning itself in sustainable fuels and plastic recycling projects, as well as in new geographical areas.
The company has already signed projects in these new areas, which require a longer development period than its historical areas of expertise.
HydroThane already plans to draw on several Axens subsidiaries internationally. Active in Europe, America, Asia, and Africa, the company is targeting developments in South America and Southwest Asia, areas where Axens has its own teams.
