Spent oils plant aims to re-process spent lube oils for the production of various grade of base oils.

Usually, traditional processes in this segment can secure either high yield or high quality, but rarely both at the same time. More specifically, processes which target high-yield require clay treatment to reduce metal content resulting in the production of toxic waste. On another hand, while pursuing higher quality lube oils, traditional processes might need the use of a hydrofinishing step at the expense of lower yield.

Revivoil™ is a game changer, achieving both high quality and high yields, effectively offering a higher ROI as compared with previously mentioned traditional processes.

Revivoil™

Revivoil™ is Axens Solutions' optimum route to lube bases from spent oil. This process, developed jointly by Axens and Itelyum (formerly Viscolube Italiana SpA), goes far to put spent oil rerefining on the fast track to success. Apart from the usual problem of collecting spent oil, traditional spent oil processing has been an underachiever when it comes to quality, yields, ecology and economics.

Residue Hydrotreating Catalysts

RDS units include a number of reactors in series, each with a dedicated function. These units require a tailored catalyst system characterized by three reaction zones where the types and quantities of each catalyst are determined as a function of the feedstock difficulty and the objectives of the unit.
