ECARU, Qalaa Holdings and Axens to Carry Out Technical and Economic studies for a Project of Second-Generation Biofuel (Advanced Bioethanol) and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Production

Within the framework of their strategy to provide practical solutions for cleaner energy, ECARU (Egyptian Company for Solid Waste Recycling), Qalaa Holdings, and Axens, on July 17, 2023, signed a cooperation protocol in the presence of H.E. French ambassador to Egypt Marc Barety, to carry out technical and economic studies for a project of second-generation biofuel (advanced bioethanol) and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production.

Syclus choses Axens to provide Atol® technology for Europe’s first ethanol-based renewable ethylene production plant

Syclus intends to build and operate a plant for the production of renewable ethylene from sustainable ethanol in Chemelot Industrial Park, Geleen, The Netherlands. With an annual production capacity in the range of 100,000 tonnes, this renewable ethanol-to-ethylene production plant would be a first in Europe, paving the way for a more sustainable way of producing plastics.

EDF, Holcim, IFPEN and Axens join forces to participate together in the creation of the French e-fuels air transport industry, with the "Take Kair" project, supported by Air France-KLM

The objective of this cooperation is to take advantage of the complementary expertise of the signatories in order to contribute to the decarbonization of air transport and to support the emergence of the French e-SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) industry, thanks to an industrial pilot project called "Take Kair", in Pays de la Loire, France. The Air France-KLM Group supports the project.

Axens, a partner to the BioTJet industrial project for the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel in France using BioTfueL® technology

Axens has acquired stakes in the BioTJet project, the aim of which is to build and operate the largest European Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production unit using the Fischer-Tropsch process, relying on the BioTfueL® technology. This unit will be built in France and will be started up by 2027.
