Aromatics Complex

Benzene, toluene and xylenes (BTX) are mainly produced by the catalytic reforming of naphtha using continuous catalyst regeneration technology (Aromizing™). Another source of aromatics is the pyrolysis gasoline (Pygas) produced by steam cracking of naphtha. Paraxylene (PX), one of most important xylene molecules, is used as a building block in the production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and is used in plastic bottles and a vast array of synthetic fibers.

Axens Solutions is a leader in PX production and purification technologies with the ParamaX® suite of aromatics technologies. They are the result of several years of research and development of materials and aromatic treatment processes as well as purification treatment all relating to paraxylene production.  Materials and aromatic treatment processes are developed and customized to each specific client needs. The Eluxyl® process for PX separation is at the heart of the ParamaX® suite and is known for its excellence in operation, its high-capacity and high-stability molecular sieve adsorbent. Other aromatics process technologies in the ParamaX® suite that include: xylenes isomerization, transalkylation and extractive distillation; offer improved yield performance with lower investment and operating costs.

Axens Solutions is also the world leader in high-purity cyclohexane production through benzene hydrogenation with its HC series catalysts.
